Cheap Stair Parts
I’ve been thinking a lot about the cable rail that’s spec’d for the 2nd floor lookout balcony and, now, as Mike informs me, for the guard rails that just came into play. There was something unique and cool about this, but now just seems like a bygone trend that will feel like dated tubular rails painted white or black from the 1980s with some metal-framed Robert Nagel prints.
I’ve never really been hep on the look, although I’ve never found it offensive. But now that we have two young boys with rather large skulls, I can envision them wedging their little pumpkins between the taut wires — too proximate a pattern and they’ll choke, too far apart and there they be heading down to mother earth. And, this comes from a cat who isn’t a worst-case scenario dude.
Perhaps my inner design psyche is revolting. So I’m looking for alternatives. And I’ll be damned if I’m not falling in love with forged metal rosettes for balusters. God help me.
